Snowmobiling in Pittsburg, NH — Day One

First day in Pittsburg, hit Back Lake to test the sleds, then ran up to Diamond Ridge for the view, went south around Mt. Magalloway, back up on the east side of First Connecticut Lake, and back into Pittsburg for lunch at the famed Buck Rub Pub. Afterwards we traveled south to see Murphy Dam, then east across Lake Francis, popped out at the state park entrance, under the historic River Road covered bridge, and finally a stop at Young's for a splash of 87 and some frozen dinner.

Snowmobiling — Day Two

We headed south toward the Balsam Resort, closed now for fifteen years and nearly abandoned. From there we made the sharp climb up to Dixville Peak for the view, then came down on an amazingly flowy stretch of trail on the service road. We then went west into Colebrook for a quick lunch from the Family Dollar, then north along the Vermont border toward Canada and through Beecher Falls before looping back to Pittsburg. We crossed Indian Stream (named for the Republic of Indian Stream) and finished with a final lap around Back Lake before returning the rentals.
